Located conveniently on Bawtry Road, this casual eatery has immersed itself in the essence of British comfort food, offering a warm welcome and a relaxed dining atmosphere.
At Toby Carvery, the star of the show is undeniably the carvery itself. Guests can select from a generous variety of meats, each prepared to perfection by friendly chefs who take pride in their craft. One patron, Colin Airey, raved about the experience, noting that the portions were satisfying and the classic Yorkshire puddings were as large as they were delicious. The charm of the carvery lies not just in the food, but in the experience—where a chat with the chef makes the meal feel personal and engaging.
As you enter this bustling restaurant, you're likely to be drawn in by the inviting aroma of freshly roasted meats and the comforting sight of a well-equipped salad bar. Whether you are dining solo, with family, or as part of a larger gathering, the atmosphere here is always filled with laughter and the clatter of dishes. Samantha Meredith’s experience reflects this welcoming vibe, enjoying a meal in the bar area after a spontaneous visit. The local camaraderie adds a unique flavour to your meal, making it more than just a dining experience but a moment of connection.
While some diners like Andy have noted their challenges with availability during peak times, the charm of Toby Carvery lies in its ability to bounce back. Patrons can expect friendly staff who are attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is enjoyable and fulfilling. After all, as David Maxfield experienced during a busy Christmas dinner, even at peak times, the staff keep their spirits high and service efficient.

Visited on a Thursday for evening meal. Booked beforehand and on arrival quickly shown to our table and drinks order taken. We had the carvery option which was served by a welcoming, chatty chef. Meat portions were reasonable, large Yorkshire puddings and plenty of vegetables available and of course their gravy. A very tasty, filling meal and on the day, at half the normal price. A bargain.

Just had a brilliant carvery here. We stopped off on our way home from a weekend away and hadn't booked but the lady at the desk informed us we could sit in the bar area and have food if we wished to. This was fine for us. We sat in the bar area near a few locals, who were really chatty and friendly. All of us had a carvery. We didn't have to queue very long. The gentleman serving at the carvery was really nice. The food was amazing. The meat choice was fab, I had beef and turkey and it melted in your mouth. The roast potatoes were cooked to perfection and the sliced garlic potatoes were absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend! All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Great place to eat!

Just called in for the all you can eat breakfast. When we got to our table we had to wait for food as there weren't any plates and some of the food trays were empty, we asked staff that appeared several minutes later to ask the chef to fill them up and get some plates. The chef appeared and filled everything up,we got our food. The eggs were hard. There were limited portions of everything available. If I compare it to the other chains available that do similar (green tree) then this is poor. They don't offer fried bread, black pudding or waffles like other chains do for the same price. Other people coming up had to wait for food. By the time we left there wasn't anything available. It was poor to say the least, we wouldn't go back for breakfast there again.

Absolutely loved our Christmas dinner here. Upon arrival, our table was ready immediately, despite being packed. We found the Christmas card on the table, addressed to the family name, a really nice personal touch. The food was great, staff were polite and attentive, again, despite being really busy, they never faltered. In my opinion, nothing to be improved on.We had a bad experience at another place years ago, for Xmas dinner and we were apprehensive, thinking we'd spent money, we're we going to regret it again.....but no, The Punches: Toby Carvery made it a good experience. Thank You
